Spirits of Camphor

It just occurred to me that as a kid I used to kill butterflies with a
drop of spirits of camphor on the head.  This seems to be a good
alternative to cyanide jars, and squeezing the thorax. The latter does
not do a very good job on some Papilios.  Is camphor not available
anymore, or is there some other reason it does not seem to be in vogue?
