Glue

I work in a print shop and we use a hot glue to bind our books, we don't
do hard covers only soft. It dries quite quickly and stays kind of soft,
not brittle. I could send you a few chips or pillows as they are called
and you could heat it up in an old pot. Another option would be to
contact the bookbinder we use for hard covers, or some other bindery and
see if they could recommend something.
