retarding egg hatching process

Hi,

Is there anything than cold temp. that can be used to retard egg
hatching ?. I am breeding Gaudy Commodores (Precis octavia) and eggs
hatch around 4-5 days. I can delay the hatching process by just storing
them in the refrigerator, however is there any substance or quemical
that can have similar effect on butterfly eggs ?.
