Collecting wild Polyphemus cocoons

Hi,

Although polyphemus is very common here in western
Missouri, I only seem to be finding the majority of
the live cocoons on wild dogwood and occassionally on birch.
I know most cocoons of this species fall to the ground
and are therefore tougher to locate, but can anyone suggest
a wild foodplant that the cocoons are more commonly attached
to?

Thanks,
