There is no old growth oyamel fir forest whatsoever at the monarch overwintering
sites in Mexico. Most trees are only 30-40 years old, none older than 80 years.
For centuries these for have been selectively logged.

Logical conclusion? A reasonable amount of selective logging is compatible
with monarch overwintering.

What logging policy do American scientists promote? A total ban on all
logging so as to eventually create an old growth forest.
