Just a little editorial

Dear James,
My little editorial had nothing to do with you. I don't know you or
anything about you. It is impossible for me to have any idea of anything
you believe, stand for/against etc, except I assume you are for the
preservation of habitat and wildlife - as I am. Please.
But now that you have reacted so strongly, are you saying you want to
abolish subspecific names? If this is indeed the way you feel, then it is
understandable that you would identify with my remark. But even so, why on
earth would anybody assume that an _example_ of the way in which Blacks
were viewed in the time of slavery somehow be taken as a dirrect ascertion
that someone is currently a racest. The example nothing to do with racism -
that was not the topic. It was an extreme example of how diminished
identity results in the destruction of the diminished - be it a race of
people or bugs.
The only reason I am not sending this just to you is because you made
some pretty heavy personal assertions. I had already sent the response to
your other post before I opened this one up. Believe me, had I know
........(deleted)....... I would not have even sent that one.
