Sorry, I think I lost a point somewhere ???
 
The possibility of putting insect pictures and genome pictures (or
representations) on line will give you the possibility of throwing to the
garbage the all collection ???? That's the point ?
 
Some where I tell that it could be a priority to put pictures of insect
types on the web or on CD ROM but only to avoid sending the specimens. And,
that's only a good system in some families like butterflies, Dynastines
(pictures of specimens and genitalia), etc... It's only a half and half
solution to the conflict between people afraid to send types and specialist
needing to see the Types.
