It is pretty good - superb rainforest, good roads & communications,
friendly people. The only down-sides are its distance from the Andes
and the relatively high (French) cost of living out there.

Mmm - been near there but I didn't stay in the same place as you did -
and I didn't do any actual moth-trapping in Ecuador - more's the pity!
