The blacklighting for hairstreaks season has begun.  I got my 4th species to date, Banded Hairstreak, to my lights last night.  In the past, I've had White M, Hickory and Striped Hairstreaks.  The little butterfly always looks so sleek and delicate when it is surrounded by moths.  It's a cat amongst the dogs.

Also on the sheet earlier was a Tiger Swallowtail larva on "walkabout".  I brought it in and it's now a chrysallis.

As for the moths, numerous - probably over 50spp!  This heat is bringing them in.
