splitting-lumping-splitting, butterflies are not unique

The same cycle of splitting (late 19th to mid-20th century), lumping 
1950s to 1980s and splitting has gone on in other zoologic disciplines 
(I can't speak about plant systematics even though I was a botany 
major). Birds show this just as well as butterflies.
