UV lights

I have run one of my blacklights now for about 18 years - every night at
interesting times of the year. It was smashed by a dust devil a few weeks
ago, but was attracting as effectively as it ever did right up to its last
night.

I also ran MV lights in England for many years - virtually every night, and
they only packed up once they were physically broken. No evidence ever of
them losing effectiveness either. Not used US MV lights enough to pass
comment.

Suspect like others that it is just that lull time of the year. In the
desert, our numbers go up very high in the early summer, but diversity drops
to the lowest level for the whole year then. Mostly pest species like beet
armyworm, tobacco budworm, corn earworm and cabbage looper feeding on the
crops nearby.
