I've raised several different Mompha species from Monterey County, Calif. The species feed on various plants from the Onagraceae and each forms a similar type of cocoon. Thus far the list includes two species from Epilobium canum, a species from Epilobium ciliatum,a species from Clarkia ungulculata, a species from Oenothera elata, a species from Camissonia cheiranthifolia and I'm waiting for one to emerge from Camissonia ovata. There are many other plants from this family in Monterey County and perhaps other species will also exist. Does anyone know of any additional food plant records from this area, and does anyone know of a key which delineates the U.S. species? Larry Turner
