Hi
Surely there are more experienced collectors and enthusiasts in the hobby
but here are some hints:
-use a mercury-vapour lamp or blacklight, in front of a white sheet or, in
alternative, a light trap: (http://entomopraxis.com/imagenes/G8010.jpg)
-collecting should be in a rather open place, not covered by bushes, trees
or walls.
-preferably not in the city because of urban lights
-in full moon moths come less to lights; it´s better during new moon
-Autumn is a rather poor season for collecting comparing to Spring and
Summer

There should be more tips for you but i´m remembering nothing more for
now...
All the best

Eduardo Marabuto
