mystery cat on willow?

Folks,

A mild distraction from what is going on in the world.  Last week I found 
several of these caterpillars on Black Willow near my pond in Durham, NC. I 
managed one nice  photo and its at 
http://www.rlephoto.com/cats/mysterycat010.jpg I`m fairly sure its some 
kind of looper caterpillar but not which one. It was around 2 1/2 inches long.
