Bryant Mather

Bryant Mather was clearly an extraordinarily gifted person for those he knew and touched; I had the opportunity to attend a dinner with him a couple of years back, and he was the most easy going, and so entertaining and big-hearted person I can remember meeting. I recall his description on doing some concrete industry consulting work in Mexico City, for example, perhaps 20-30 years ago. How he balanced his schedule to do a little afternoon fieldwork during his lunch hour and describe a new Lep or two- in his characteristicly matter-of-fact way. I'll always remember him smiling (and whenever passing Mather Field near Sacramento, I'll still especially recall him.)
