The Entomological Museum of Lesn, Nicaragua, is publishing a new CD ROM :
SPHINGIDAE & SATURNIIDAE  DE  NICARAGUA (spanish version)
Result of a collaboration between Jean-Michel MAES (Nicaragua), Pierre
SCHMIT (France), Michel LAGUERRE (France) and Chris CONLAN (USA).

The CD ROM presents the species of Sphingidae and Saturniidae, generally big
sized moth, reported from Nicaragua.

Sphingidae : 119 species, 49 of them are new report for the nicaraguan
fauna. 40 exotic species, from the collections of Entomological Museum of
Lesn are also illustrated. This work is based for the Sphingidae part, on a
total of  2649 specimens.

Saturniidae : 94 species, 24 of them are new report for the nicaraguan
fauna. 35 exotic species, from the collections of Entomological Museum of
Lesn are also illustrated. This work is based for the Saturniidae part, on a
total of  1464 specimens.

Each species is illustrated with color pictures, and for many Saturniidae,
color pictures of caterpillars are given by Chris Conlan. Caterpillars of
Saturniidae are urticants.

For each species, basic information is provide : actual scientific name,
synonyms, nicaraguan mentions in litterature, general distribution, host
plants, natural enemies, list of the studied specimens or specimens
mentioned in litterature, color pictures, bibliographical references used.

The CD ROM, and the precedent titles, are working on Windows base and there
is no need of special program, the CD ROM run as a web page.
