I have kept silent for the last 3 1/2 years regarding butterfly
releases while watching the data being recorded in regard to the issue
but now it is time to speak. The facts are clear.

Phone records will show conversations were conducted in 1996 / 1997
with the people key to this discussion being involved, as well as
coversations with Robert Flanders, USDA.

I remember being told that preceding with a "National Butterfly
Release" on the 4th of July, the day Americans celebrate independence,
was catamount to destroying the world. My original place of release on
the west coast was to help benefit the Oregon Food Bank at the river
front. However, I was informed by some that a fringe of the science
and intellectual community might not agree with the direction I was
traveling. We know who they - am I correct Bob, Neil, and Jeff? By the
way, some of these people are book writers and not scientist.

I believed since the onset of these releases that the path was right,
and I still believe it is right! But only I know my course just as
only you can know yours. Without the participation of everyone there
will be no solution. We must all participate.

I have witnessed first hand what a butterfly release can do for the
enjoyment of children, as well as adults, no matter their physical,
emotional, or intellectual state. From my first butterfly release with
two rabbis and their children to the concert stands with over 20,000
people in attendance, I can attest that people marvel at the touch of
a butterfly. The word is TOUCH. Not Watching - but TOUCHING! Of
course, I do understand that some people are not familar with that
word.

The method of releases has allowed us to distribute tens of millions
of host and nectar sources throughout the United States and were able
to do this with virtually no government funding. I would of applied
but to much red tape :-) for me.

However, we were able to help support Dr. Richard Stringer in his
efforts of research dealing with Monarch Chrysalis through MRI
technology. As some will recall, this research was with Duke
University, with the recent publication of his findings. My
understanding is that the US Government supplied additional funding
for the University.

At this time, I totally disagree with additional laws to protect the
status quo. If you think we need more laws then go to a law library
and start reading.

When science is controlled by law is it really science or is it law?
Should I make my next crusade dealing with what science really is -
politics, manipulation, and media control? I have studied - I have
learned - and I have played.

I speak a slogan that up till now I have only shared with my closet
friends - perhaps it is applicable to this day...

I may be crazy or I might not be, but if it works does it really
matter? And the answer is always the same.

Cheers :-)

Hans Schnauber

PS to Jeff. By the way, in regard to your statements [ might of been
Neils ] in regard to the federal case. You will find it in the Federal
Communications Law Journal or under trademark case Zipee v. United
States Postal Service
