LEPS-L and me

Well said, Kenn! It will be a dull day on Leps-L when we do away with
individuality.

Lepsters are an integral part of the fascination with butterflies. Can we
extricate from our study of butterflies the contributions by Holland,
Linnaeus, Scudder, Boisduval, Edwards, Nabokov, Reminger and others? Are
modern day, "pre-recognized" lepidopterists any less vital?

One of the greatest aspects of this List is that some of the most eminent
lepidopterists among us are willing and available to mentor the most common,
inexperienced and remote. This mentor approach is well proven as a teaching
method. For some reason, a mentor can bring butterflies within the "grasp"
of an eager learner. Personality and interaction are key to this process.

You ought to see my kids study geography through some of Mark's postings; it
is not one bit reminiscent of that fourth grade geography book you slept
through! My kids like butterflies. Their interest in butterflies is
inextricable from their fascination with the crazy grownups who study them!
They "know" some of you as real people!

Let's keep it crazy. And real. Kid compatible, as always, but uncensored.
