So Hank if NABA raised the $500,000 would it end up with
full title to a $1,000,000 piece of property?
21 years ago the Audubon Society used public donations to buy a
little 1/4 acre piece of property here along the California coast for
a below market price of $10,000. The property was the home
of an overwintering site of monarch butterflies.
Later in the 1980's the butterflies moved to other trees about
a quarter of a mile away. So the property was no longer a
major butterfly habitat. Meanwhile the market value of the
property soared to over $100,000.
