Re: [leps-talk] Re: Brower replies- The most recent ranting about monarch butterfly conservationThank you, Woody. I wish to extend my apologies to all concerned. I was really ready to let all of this slide, until my late father was dragged into this. I still mourn for him. I felt it was a low blow, and I lost it. My only excuse. At least I know who my friends are, as they know me. This all could have been avoided. cb

Jeff, -- Charles Bordelon is one of the best taxonomists and natural historians on these lists. Does he shoot from the hip? Guess so. Does Rush? Yes, but he misses far more often. Do you and I miss? Hmm, no-- I'm never wrong, and perhaps you aren't either, except this once. Stay tuned, and you may be surprised to find cb one of your best friends-- not withstanding your email; it was mild by comparison with others; he makes up very quickly with those who offer solid substance online.

Hey Chuckie:
You are making this list server look like a profane joke. How about you just unsubscribe and leave this to the real lepidopterists? Your self-righteous ranting just makes me puke. If I wanted to hear crap like this, I would tune my radio to Rush Limbaugh. I have worked with some real A**ES in the field, but you take the cake.
Let's get back to real discussions, and away from these high and mighty pious posturings.
Respectfully (to everyone else):

It is SUPRISED, not SURPRISED. There, you just learned something new. Now, please, people... Enough is enough. Do you hear yourself? "Surprised...understanding of the language"? Give me a break. I don't have to prove anything. Have you read the books? Of course not. How silly of me to assume. cb

Charles,
For someone who has written 10 books, which, by the way, does not prove anything about intelligence or education, I am surprised that you don't have a better understanding of the language. To say that a statement was for someone's educational benefit is merely to indicate that you are proffering that statement to add to that person's knowledge. Surely none of us can claim to be above learning something new?
Please do not subject us to postings that are no more than unsubstantiated insults. That should be done privately, or better yet, not at all.

I agree completely. This would be like one of us getting on a birder
