big snip
John Emmel's review of the [Yosemite] paper is back. He has made
many great observations (most of them are unpublished) and these will be
incorporated into the final manuscript. Of great value are his comments
related to species of questionable status possibly being in the region, one
subspecies addition, one species (or more) deletions, taxonomic observations
running contrary to what has been published and additional records for
adults and host plants. It will take some time to make these changes, along
with recommendations by George T. Austin and Paul Opler.
Expect some surprises.

As we at TILS move closer and closer to the final compilation and
publication of the Yosemite booklets, I thought I'd take this opportunity to
direct everyone to the TILS web site where one can subscribe to The
Taxonomic Report to get this. There is no rush as there are no
"pre-publication" discounts, this is just to let ya'll know where to get
your name on the list in advance or where you can get it later.
Go to http://www.tils-ttr.org and click on "Subscribe" in the top menu.
One can place an order via credit card with our PayPal account, or just
print out the form and mail it in with a check.
I hope the new options are not confusing. Volumes 4,5, & 6 are all
currently in the works. There is one more issue left (#8) to complete
Vol. 4. Vol. 5 is Ken's Yosemite masterpiece which will be in two
booklets -- one all text and one all plates. One will be able to have them
side by side which will eliminate the flipping back and forth thingy. One
will be able to read and see at the same time. This will be in our normal 8
1/2 X 11 size but the format will be quite different. Vol. 6 will begin as
soon as 4 is complete and I expect at least two issues in that before the
first of next year.
ALSO, with so much in the publications pipe line at this time it puts a huge
financial crunch on us. Thus, if anyone wants to help there, click on the
"Donations" link at the TILS home page and contribute to the publications
fund (100% tax deductible). TILS is financing the Yosemite publication so
the more we get from supporters the less we have to borrow - and sooner it
will be paid off.
NOTE that the first two Volumes of The Taxonomic Report are no longer
available in paper - CD only.
