Dear Enthusiasts of Mexican Butterflies,

I am proud to announce the following new website, “Interactive Listing of
Mexican Butterflies.” This site is intended to serve as an online directory of
information related to the taxonomy, biology, identification, distribution and
conservation of Mexico’s butterflies.

http://www.mariposasmexicanas.com/

Currently, this site is in its infancy, but over time, we intend for it to be a
comprehensive source of information on Mexican butterflies. With support from
CONABIO (a branch of the Mexican Government), The Museo de Zoologia at Mexico’s
National Autonomous University in Mexico City, interested researchers in various
nations, knowledgeable Natural Historians and other eco-tourists interested in
Mexican butterflies, we hope that this site will be useful to everyone with an
interest in the Mexican butterfly fauna. For now, this site will concentrate
on butterflies, but in the future, equivalent information on various Mexican
moth groups may be added.

To get an idea of the type of information we aim to eventually include for each
species, as well as images of immature stages, see the skipper Codatractus
valeriana:

On behalf of the Authors, Co-Authors, Advisors and Contributors to this project,
we hope you will find this new resource to be valuable. We encourage your
input, suggestions, and any images or information you may be able to share
(please contact Mike Stangeland and/or Kim Davis).

This site will be updated on a very regular basis, so check back often for
updates!

Best,

Andy Warren
(Coordinator of USA branch)
