Subject: PLEASE HELP

Dear Sir

BRAZILIAN BUTTERFLIES

More than 30 years ago I read an article in the READERS DIGEST about the
pioneering work on BUTTERFLIES done by an illiterate Brazilian Postman in
early 20th century. He took meticulous notes while on his delivery rounds
through the jungles. He later became literate and submitted his papers to a
university. PAPERS WERE REJECTED as he had no Degree. After his death his
son, by that time a researcher himself, presented the same papers in his
father's name. Then they were accepted with AN APOLOGY.

I am trying to FIND HIS NAME AND SOME DETAILS. I am a teacher in Kandy, Sri
Lanka. I want to use his example in a speech to the students.

Please reply to : wije1944 at sltnet.lk
my personal email address.

Thank you in advance,

Yours truly
