Location of French types

Gary,

What remains of French's collection is deposited at Southern Illinois
University at Carbondale, where he taught beginning in 1878. The museum
burned there in 1883, but French created a new museum based mostly on
his own collections.

I hope this is helpful.

Take care,

John Calhoun

Subject: Location of French types

It has been so quiet I will ask a question or two to see if anyone is
still out there (here?)!

Does anyone know where the G.H. French types are housed? In particular
I am looking for the a photo of the type of Panthea gigantea French.
French resided in Carbondale Ill.

Any help will be appreciated - also any hints on how to track down type
material like this on my own!

Cheers

Gary Anweiler
