The British newspaper The Shropshire reports that a vandal by the name
of Antony Barnett has been convicted for damaging a site which is a
nature reserve for a rare butterfly. The site, Prees Heath, is a reserve
for the rare Silver-Studded Blue Butterfly (Plebejus argus) and is owned
by the conservation organisation Butterfly Conservation which is the
world's largest butterfly society.
The newspaper says "At Shrewsbury Magistrates' Court yesterday Antony
Barnett, 71, of The Grove, Hodnet, was found guilty of causing criminal
damage at the site on August 9 last year and ordered to pay £4,500
compensation."
