The Motyl Chamber Ensemble is performing at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall this Sunday, January 11 at 2pm.  


_Surviving Suppression:  The Music of Jewish Emigre Composers_.  


The award-winning Motyl Chamber Ensemble will be performing music by
composers who were forced to flee Germany, Austria and Poland during
the 1930's to escape persecution.  Chamber music by Robert Kahn, Hans
Gal, Karl Weigl and Miecezyslaw Weinberg will be performed including
the US premiere of
Weinberg's Jewish Songs which are taken from the Yiddish poetry of
Shmuel Halkin.  Tickets may be purchased by calling Carnegie Charge at
