MENDELE Yiddish Language and Literature
Personal Notices and Announcements
July 13, 2009
To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests:
1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance.
2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments.
3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has
posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames.

To members of the Mendele list,
5 weeks ago, just before leaving for to attend my sister's khassene in
London, my computer laptop was stolen.
Although I had backed up all relevant documents pertaining to my PhD
studies and other important data (including interviews), my saved and
sent emails were lost.
I'm a recent Mendele member - and I had some fantastic help from
individuals on the list in the past months.
Can I ask those who wrote privately to me if they could forward those
emails again, so that I can store them on a remote server?
All my questions were in regard to Yiddish songs, sung or heard by
survivors in my doctoral study.
Please reply to me privately: josephtoltz at me.com
Many thanks
Joseph Toltz
PhD candidate, University of Sydney
