Mendele Personal Notices & Announcements
March 14, 2010
To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests:
1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance.
2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments;and
write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line.
3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has
posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames.

I am a New York City based documentary filmmaker. I am working on a film
titled IN EXILE about Orthodox Jews who are anti-Zionist. I have been
filming this project for some time now - both in Jerusalem and in New
York. The subjects of my film primarily speak Yiddish. I am looking for
some assistance with Yiddish-English translation and wonder if you can
help me find a translator or several translators who would be interested
in helping out with this project.
I am looking for assistance with:
a. Translating previously recorded interviews.
And
b. Translating in the field, helping to translate interviews (being
conducted by me with a Yiddish speaker)
I am seeking to work with advanced Yiddish speakers. I am looking to shoot
a couple of interviews in the very near future (either this week or next)
with some of my yiddish speaking subjects and would be extremely grateful
to a translator who would be available to assist me with conducting
interviews. The position is not paid, but all involved would be awarded
credits in the film. Also, there is a possibility for the work to become
paid in the future.
Thanks so much for your kind assistance!!
All the best,
Heather Tenzer
