Mendele Personal Notices & Announcements
June 31, 2010
To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests:
1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance.
2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments;and
write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line.
3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has
posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames.

Subject:Sutzkever reading "The Twin Sisters" on CD
Among the many works of Sutzkever was a poignant story called The
Twin-Sisters, in the book The Green Aquarium. We recently had the
privilege and pleasure ofhearing the C.D of this story, accompanied by the
dramatic and powerful music of Daniel Galay.
The narration is in Yiddish, with an accompanying booklet in English and
Hebrew.
It was truly a moving experience. We learned later that was first
performed in Tel Aviv in 2003, on the occasion of Avrom Sutzkever's 90th
birthday. We highly recommend this experience to all who remember this
great Yiddish writer.
For C.D. information, contact Daniel Galay (who is also the head of
Leivick House in Tel Aviv, and the Organization of Yiddish Writers in
Israel) forinformation or call
