Mendele Personal Notices & Announcements

April 17, 2012

To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests:

1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance.
2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments;and
write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line.
3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has
posted the notice,
*not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames.

Subject: "Mending the Curtain," a film on the Montreal International
Yiddish Theatre Festival

Now available on DVD!

To the members of Mendele. Sholem Aleichem. My name is Ben Gonshor

I'm a filmmaker and I recently co-wrote and produced a feature length
documentary about the first ever international Yiddish theatre festival
that took place in Montreal in 2009. That festival was the first of its
kind in the history of Yiddish culture which, by extension, makes the film
special because its the only one of its kind as well. I think it's an
important historical document, educational tool and entertaining as well.

The film premiered in May of last year at the L.A. Jewish Film Festival.

It's now availale on DVD.

You can read more about the film, the filmmakers, press previews and view
a clip at our website
www.mendingthetorncurtain.com<http://www.mendingthetorncurtain.com/>

I hope the readers of Mendele will be interested in purchasing a copy of
the film either for personal use or for educational purposes.

The individual price for the DVD is $20
The institutional price for the DVD is $150

If interested, copies can be purchased directly from our website at this
link http://mendingthetorncurtain.com/orders/ or you can be in touch with
me directly by
emailing me at bengonshor at gmail.com<mailto:bengonshor at gmail.com>

A sheynem dank,
Ben
