The League for Yiddish is seeking qualified candidates for the position of
Executive Director, to begin in February 2020.

The position is currently part-time, with the possibility of full-time,
given the creation of additional initiatives, programs and projects.

Responsible for:
1. Promoting the mission of the League for Yiddish (leagueforyiddish.org)
2. Overseeing the finances/operations of the organization
3. Managing/growing the membership, and fundraising
4. Coordinating organizational programs and projects, both in-person and
virtual, that promote the Yiddish language
5. Expanding the online presence of the League for Yiddish
6. Developing activity and program proposals in keeping with the mission of
the League for Yiddish, for consideration by the Executive Board of the
League for Yiddish.
7. Representing, and speaking on behalf of, the League for Yiddish at
appropriate
public events.
8. Representing the League for Yiddish in collaborative efforts with
kindred organizations.
9. Reporting regularly to the Board on: League for Yiddish activities,
financial status, membership recruitment, work of the Executive Director

Qualifications:
1. Must speak and write fluent Yiddish and be knowledgeable of Yiddish
culture and history
2. Should have administrative/management experience
3. Must have strong capabilities in technology/website management/social
media.
4. Preferably live within commuting distance of New York.
