Open- Rank Faculty Position
The Ethnic Studies Department at Colorado State University invites applications for a 9-month tenure track position in Ethnic Studies. This is an open rank position (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor) and salary is commensurate with qualifications.
Starting Date: August 16, 2009.
Qualifications and Responsibilities: Required qualifications include doctorate degree completed by August 15, 2009. Assistant professors must demonstrate potential excellence in research/scholarship in Ethnic Studies; demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching/advising; demonstrated potential for excellence in service/outreach; and strong interpersonal and communication skills while Associate and Full Professors must demonstrate excellence in all categories. The qualified applicant must be able to teach core Ethnic Studies courses and have subfield expertise in African American or Native American studies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, assist in the coordination of curricular and teaching affairs in Ethnic Studies, and assume regular faculty responsibilities.
Closing Date for Application: Full consideration will be extended to those applications received by the application deadline of October 1, 2008. Review of applications will commence on that date.
Applications must include a cover letter stating interest, current vita, sample of recent writing or publication, evidence of teaching/advising excellence if available, and letters from three references. Application materials, including letters of recommendation of semi-finalist candidates, will be made available for review by the entire faculty of the Ethnic Studies Department.
