University of New Mexico Joint Appointment in Educational
Leadership and Native American Studies

Open Rank position at the level of Assistant or Associate
Professor in Educational Leadership and Native American
Studies. The College of Education Department of
Educational Leadership and Organizational Learning and the
Native American Studies Department invite applications for
a full-time Open Rank position at the level of Assistant
or Associate Professor in Educational Leadership and
Native American Studies beginning August 2012. This
position offers a joint appointment shared between the two
Departments which will be probationary leading to a tenure
decision.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach both
in the Educational Leadership and Native American Studies
and work collaboratively with other faculty to develop and
deliver curricula which support the Native Language and
Education concentration in the Bachelor’s of Arts degree
in Native Studies and the MA and Ed.D. curricula in the
College of Education. It is expected that the successful
candidate will also actively mentor, advise, tutor, and
guide both Native American and non-Native American
students in the programs.
