PLEASE RESPOND TO RICH'S QUESTION ON THE LIST SERVE -- I AM VERY
INTERESTED IN THE SAME THING. IN MY CASE, IT IS THE VALUE OF SPECIMENS
IN OUR UNIVERSITY'S MAMMAL, BIRD AND BUTTERFLY COLLECTIONS. WE ARE
SUPPOSED TO VALUE THESE FOR INSURANCE COVERAGE PURPOSES, BUT DO NOT KNOW
EXACTLY HOW TO DO IT? DO YOU GO BY REPLACEMENT COST? -- IF SO, WHAT
ABOUT EXTINCT OR ENDANGERED SPECIES THAT ARE IRREPLACEABLE? DOES
SOMEONE OUT THERE HAVE A FORMULA FOR THIS?
THANKS,
KERRIE

Subject: [NHCOLL-L:1398] Insurance value for a mounted bald eagle
Reply-To: rich at thewildlifemuseum.org
Folks:
I've been asked to help the USFWS determine the value of a bald eagle
mount.
What the agent is interested in is the value assigned to such a mount for
insurance purposes. Does anyone out there have such a value assigned
to a
full mount in their collections? Would you be willing to share that
information?
Thanks!
