We have a large collection of fluid-preserved gross (human) organs that date
back to the Civil War. Most of these specimens are housed in plexi
containers, and I am aware that these containers are documented to undergo
container failure. Recently, I have had a number of the specimens on the
exhibit floor experience a degree of container failure. Fortunately, it has
the top seam of the container that has lost its bound resulting in a small
degree of leakage and, of course, increase fluid evaporation rates. Given
the size of some of these specimens, replacing the container does not appear
to be a reasonable solution, at least in the short term. Does anyone have
experiencing "repairing" these containers? Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks.
