[NHCOLL-L:2012] SPNHC newsletter - new editor and deadline for submissions

Hi all

This email serves as notice of a change in editorship of the SPNHC
newsletter.  Chris Norris has relinquished his duties as he is actively
involved with the planning of the next SPNHC conference.  We would like to
thank him for a job well done.  My name is Andy Bentley and I am at present
the collection manager of ichthyology at the Natural History Museum and
Biodiversity Research Center at the University of Kansas.  I have held this
position for just over two years.  Before that I was collection manager of
fishes at the JLB Smith Institute of Ichthyology (now the South African
Institute for Aquatic Biodiversity) in Grahamstown, South Africa for four
years.  I have taken over the reigns from him and will be ably assisted by
Lori Schlenker also of the Natural History Museum and Biodiversoty Research
Center here at the University of Kansas.

The SPNHC Newsletter (ISSN 1071-2887) is published twice a year, March and
September, by the Society for the Preservation of Natural History
Collections. The next edition of the SPNHC newsletter is upon us and the
deadline for submissions has been extended to August 20th.  The newsletter
is looking for articles for the next issue.  Articles dealing with subjects
of interest to Natural History Collection Managers (maximum of 1000 words)
are welcomed, as well as any news items, announcements or notes.  Due to
limited available space we cannot guarantee that all submissions will be
used in the next issue.

I would encourage anyone to submit materials before the deadline.  These
submissions can be made either by email or regular mail to the contact
information below.
