COLLECTIONS MANAGER, PALEONTOLOGY REPOSITORY
UNIVERSITY OF IOWA

The Department of Geoscience at the University of Iowa invites applications 
for a permanent, full-time Collections Manager, whose primary 
responsibility will be care and management of the Paleontology Repository, 
the fifth largest university collection in North America.  Duties include 
curation and conservation of specimens, organization and development of 
collections, processing loans, supervising visitors, managing the 
Repository database and web site, fossil identification, assisting faculty 
and graduate students in preparing specimens for teaching and research, 
public outreach, assisting in grant-writing, and research involving the

Minimum qualifications include a M.A. or M.S. in Geoscience or Biological 
Sciences with emphasis in paleontology or an equivalent combination of 
related education and experience. Experience in collections management and 
computer database skills are required.  Desirable qualifications include 
grant writing experience, web site development and public contact.
