The Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections (SPNHC) is

Natural History (AMNH) from May 11 through May 16.

The special technical session - Museum SOS: Strategies for Emergency
Response and Salvage - is a full day session of invited speakers focusing
on topics of widespread interest including national and international
alliances and response, preparedness and salvage in the event of armed
conflict (with specific focus on Iraq), salvage efforts in Czech Republic
post-floods, recovery efforts at the Pentagon post 9/11, and much more. An
additional one-day workshop will focus more specifically on salvage

archives, data management and research/technical studies.

Additional highlights include a one-day field trip to the Yale Peabody
