The Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies announces space is
still available for the following courses: 

"Gilding I" 
Instructor: Hubert Baija 
Date: September 29 - October 2, 2004 

This four-day introductory course focuses on traditional gilding 
techniques, and will combine illustrated slide lectures with hands-on 
practicum. Two days of the course will be devoted to oil gilding and two 
days to water gilding. 

 
"Gilding II" 
Instructor: Hubert Baija
Date: October 4 - 6, 2004

This three-day workshop will build on the information and techniques 
presented in Gilding Workshop I.

The Campbell Center is a mid-career training facility for professionals in
the Historic Preservation, Collections Care, and Conservation fields.
Located in Northwestern Illinois, on the campus of the former Shimer
College, the Center is about 3 hours west of Chicago. Shuttle service is
available from Rockford, Illinois. Bus connections are available from
Chicago's O'Hare airport to Rockford. Details are available from the
