We have been redoing our fluid collection labels for our bird collection
using an Epson stylist printer that uses the Epson Durabright ink. The jar
labels are being printed on Resistall paper.  So far we have not noticed any
problems with the labels as long as we make certain that the labels air dry
for about an hour or two before installing them in the fluid.
 
Models of these Epson printers start at around $80 which is considerably
cheaper than a thermal printer.
