[NHCOLL-L:3024] Fluid collections on compactor systems

We're looking at ways to expand our storage of fluid collections -- fish and herps. Currently all are stored on shelving in an explosion-proof room (or whatever local building code requires). The curator is considering a compactor system that would nearly double the amount of useable space.

I am interested to know if anyone uses a compactor system for fluid collections. I know that compactor systems are relatively smooth but I'm concerned that we could be introducing a new level of risk to specimens in jars of alcohol. I'd appreciate others experience with fluid collections on compactors.

Thanks, Jane

GREECE: SECRETS OF THE PAST is a sweeping OMNIMAX journey back in time. The film sets out on a quest to uncover the buried secrets of the Bronze and Golden Ages of ancient Greece. Using modern archaeology, the film weaves a compelling story about this culture's rapid progress in science, politics, philosophy, sports and art. Dig for clues at Santorini, dive into the Aegean Sea to discover a 2,000-year-old statue of Poseidon, and witness a remarkable re-creation of the Parthenon - this is classic OMNIMAX.
