[NHCOLL-L:3478] 'Permanent' Printer Ink - Collection Labels

With apologies for the cross-posting, I would like to know what type of 
printers people are using to produce collection labels and 
annotations.  What is the thinking regarding the 'permanence' of laser 
ink?  In the past (ca. 10 years ago), people seemed to think that inkjet 
print was more likely to be longer-lasting than laser print.  It was also 
suggested that Lexmark Black and White inkjet cartridges had 'permanent' 
ink.  Does anyone have more recent information?  Thank you!
