[NHCOLL-L:3766] Help in identification of a specimen

Dear List,

 

The following items were found in our collections during an inventory and
were initially listed as "weird bryozoans" with no scientific information
attached. They are composed of calcite and range from 13 to 20 mm in size.
They seem to have a base or point of attachment and then thin out and flare
gracefully to a fan-shaped end.  They have no discernible internal structure
or external ornamentation.  Some of them have small crinoid columnals
attached. 

 

I have attached a photograph of the specimens.  Any ideas as to what they
are?
