Dear Colleagues,

In honor of Terry Yates' contribution to natural history collections and
evolutionary biology, the Museum of Southwestern Biology has established
the Terry Yates Endowment for Field Mammalogy. We are working with the
UNM Foundation to build this fund which will be used to assist UNM
biology students as they participate in field research aimed at
continuing to build and diversify this archive of specimens. The Mammal
Collection and associated Tissue Collection were important parts of
Terry's professional career.

A few months ago the Maddox Foundation issued a challenge grant in the
amount of $50,000 to help jump start this fund. This grant will be
awarded when funds from all other source totaling $50,000 are received,
BUT we only have until the end of June to reach the $50,000 mark. At
this point, we are over half way there thanks to several very generous
donations.

We would sincerely appreciate your contribution to this fund, no matter
what the amount you can afford might be. I am told that it is much
easier for the the Foundation to convince potential donors to contribute
if a substantial percentage of Terry's colleagues have made a donation.
The process is easy, is tax deductible, can be done with a credit card,
and will take less than 120 seconds of your time.

If you'd like to help this effort, please go to:

and select the Terry Yates Endowment for Field Mammalogy.

Thank you,
