To all those who use thermal transfer printers to print labels and also purchase Preservation Tag from Alpha Systems In Virginia
They have recently sourced a thicker stock (0.7mm as opposed to 0.5mm for the original stock) that we have found is a lot more rigid and good for producing tissue and voucher tags for our fish, herp and mammal collections as it does not rip as easily as the thinner stock when hole punched. Unfortunately, Alpha Systems has a minimum order from their supplier of 25 rolls - way beyond what we can handle.
Is there anyone else out there who would be interested in this thicker stock? Richard Todd from Alpha Systems says that if he can get a commitment of 15 rolls he is willing to stock the rest for future use. He is also willing to sell this stock at the reduced rate of $235 per roll (400 feet) to stimulate use.
If you have any interest or would be willing to commit to a roll or two, please email me. I have some sample stock in hand that I could send to you if you are interested.
Thanks
Andy
