[NHCOLL-L:4018] unidentified natural object

Dear colleagues,

we are looking for your help, because we would like to identify a natural 
object, brought to us by a teacher in September.

You can see some photos of it at the following address:

It has been found on a beach of the Ligurian Sea (Italy, Liguria) in last 
May (photos 01-07).

It is 6 cm long. In the photos 08-21 it appears pink in colour because of 
its first preservation in common alcohol.

Despite of several efforts, nobody was been able to identify it.
