Heritage Preservation's Conservation Assessment Program Applications to be
Mailed on Friday, September 4

The 2010 Conservation Assessment Program (CAP) applications will be
mailed on Friday, September 4, 2009, to museums on the CAP mailing list and will
also be available on Heritage Preservation’s Web site at
www.heritagepreservation.org. The postmark deadline for applications is December 1, 2009.
The CAP program now operates on an expedited schedule, making it possible
for museums to receive collections advice quickly. Site visits for
participants may begin as early as January 1, 2010 and final reports must be
submitted to Heritage Preservation by November 1, 2010. CAP is administered by
Heritage Preservation and supported through a cooperative agreement with the
Institute of Museum and Library Services.

In 2010, Heritage Preservation will celebrate CAP’s 20th year of helping
museums obtain general collections assessments. Keep an eye on the _CAP
webpage_

participants from the past twenty years and the improvements they have
made in collections care at their museums.
