[NHCOLL-L:5606] Ohio (River) Valley Unified Malacologist (OVUM) meeting

The 5th annual Ohio (River) Valley Unified Malacologist (OVUM) meeting
will be held at The Center for Ohio River Research & Education at Thomas
More College located in California, Kentucky on the Ohio River, just
upstream from Cincinnati, OH. We will convene on October 1st, 2011, from
9:00 a.m. until the last presentation around 5:00 p.m. Light refreshments
will be available from 8:30-9:00 a.m. before the meeting starts and lunch
will also be provided at the Station at noon. Directions can be found at:
www.thomasmore.edu/fieldstation.

This one-day meeting is free and open to professionals, amateurs and
students who are interested in any aspect of molluscan biology. OVUM has
no dues, officers, abstract requirements, or publications. Participants
are encouraged to prepare fifteen minute presentations covering any topic
related to mollusks. For information or to present, please contact Meghann

The collection of mollusks at the Cincinnati Museum Center will be
available for viewing after the presentations are concluded on Saturday
evening. Please contact Francisco Borrero (borrerofcoj at gmail.com) in
advance if you are interested in using the collection. A behind-the-scenes
tour of the Newport Aquarium or a collecting trip on the Ohio River,
including electrofishing, will be offered on Sunday morning.
