Morning Laura,

you could consider battery glasses; even though the old style battery 
jars are out of production, new ones are manufactured for aquarium 
hobbyists as whole glass cubes like

Smaller glass cubes are available (10, 20 litres), but please check with 
suppliers in the US.

Historic battery glasses show up sporadically in Ebay actions or are 
sold from old stocks as fancy accessory

You can easily seal using a glass plane & grease, e.g. with soft white. 
This definitely works for 8 weeks (we permanently store parts of our 
stingray collection in such battery glasses, 20 litres & 30 litres version).
