Public
Program Specialist

The University of
Colorado at Boulder’s Museum of Natural History has a job opening for a Public
Program Specialist. This is a part-time (at 75%) position. This position is
open until filled.

The
Public Programs Specialist contributes to the knowledge of nature and humanity
by providing meaningful and memorable learning experiences that encourage
discovery and enjoyment of the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History
and the natural world.

The
Public Programs Specialist will plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate
public programs and events for 2011 and 2012.  He or she will manage
Public Programs office including section budgets, organization and supervision
of students and volunteers, and coordination of office activities with
curatorial departments, University departments and organizations, and community
partners. The Public Programs Specialist will work with Public Programs
colleagues, to coordinate the design, writing, production, and distribution of
news releases and other publicity materials to promote Museum events to the
university and general community. In addition, the Public Program Specialist
will be required to seek out and pursue new publications, marketing techniques,
and promotion opportunities.  The Public Program Specialist will also be
responsible of maintaining and promoting Museum’s Membership program.
